Preparing Your Material
Types of Formats
ExpertPlug currently accepts material in Adobe PDF (.pdf). However, you can create documents in Word (.doc, or .docx) or PowerPoint (.ppt, or .pptx) and convert these easily to .pdf. Video format is coming soon!
To convert your material to PDF format you can use the following:
Office 2007: 2007 Microsoft Office Add-in: Microsoft Save as PDF or XPS

Microsoft Word 97, 2000, 2002 and 2003: File Converters and Viewers recommended by Microsoft
Here are some of ExpertPlug's template formats you can use if you wish:
In Word: expertplug-template.doc
In Powerpoint: expertplug-template.pptx
Formatting Your Document
Layout: Use indentations, bold characters, italics, headings, headers and footers to organize your material and make it easy to read.
Images: Images can greatly enhance your document. Use the editing tools to size, crop and align images. Be careful not to wrap text too close to your images.
Spell check and Grammar: Ensure a professional impression and use spell check before posting. Also manually proofread your document to guarantee it is free of typos.
Text: Maintain a consistent set of font and font sizes throughout your document.
Front Pages
Before posting always add a Title Page or slide and a Table of Contents. This will be useful for potential customers to preview when considering whether or not to buy your material.
Title Page: At a minimum include Title, Module and Release, and Author. See example below:

Table of Contents: Outline the main points in your document with headers which appear in the Table of Contents. Use page numbers to help customers quickly find what they need or understand if yours is the document they need. See example below

Publishing Your Material
To post on ExpertPlug you will need to complete your account information. It is also recommended to set-up your PayPal details at this point.
Entering Product Details
Log in to your account and click on the Contributions tab (within your Profile). Then click on the Create button.
Following this, complete the product details fields.
Title (required)
Enter the title of your material here.
Module(s) (required)
Enter the related modules to your training document.
Price (required)
Set your selling price here. If it is free enter 0. Note: there is more information on Pricing available in Pricing Tips.
Software Version (optional)
Identify the relevant releases of your SAP modules this document pertains to.
Search Keywords (optional)
Enter 5+ descriptive keywords including transaction codes, transaction names and relevant topics. This field is important as it will help customers locate your material from within ExpertPlug and via Internet search engines. Separate keywords using commas.
Summary (required)
Provide a short overview of the purpose and main concepts within your document.
Table of Contents (optional)
Use this area to describe the main concepts/headlines of the content.
Changing your Product Details
You can change your product details at any time by returning to the Contributions tab clicking on the Edit button and directly updating any information.
Pricing Your Content
You are free to set the price for your content. However, a good guide is to price trainings in relation to the value, depth of expertise and quality it reflects.
Users are allowed to publish a limited number of free documents. To do this, set the price to 0 and it will appear as free in searches.
Changing your Price
You can change your price at any time by returning to the Contributions tab clicking on the Edit button and directly updating any information. If you do this too often, you may lose sales and receive poor reviews.
Uploading Content
After entering your product details, you will be able to upload your materials.
Thumbnail (optional)
Here you can provide an image customers will see when they browse and search for material. We recommend using the title page of your document for the thumbnail.
Document (required)
This is the complete file for the document that you will sell.
Preview (required)
This is the file that includes the sections you want potential customers to be able to browse before purchasing. We recommend including the Title page and Table of Contents in addition to any other pages.
Click on the Publish button. You will receive a confirmation message at the top of the page. Your content is now available for community members to purchase.
Changing your Product
You can change your product by returning to the Contributions tab clicking on the Edit button and uploading a new file.
Getting Paid
ExpertPlug pays you automatically via PayPal approximately 30 days following the end of the calendar month during which applicable sales occur.
Important: You must complete the Bank Account Details section in your Profile in order to receive payments. Go to the Revenues tab in your Profile and on the left hand side there is a link to complete Bank Account Details. Enter your PayPal account email and click Submit.
Tracking Sales
Under the Revenues tab accessed from your Profile you can see past sales, payments to you and any pending payments. Specifically, you can see:
Current Month-to-Date Sales
View your unit and sales transactions for the current month.
